Rajesh Chauhan and Aman Singh are the founders of GoogieHost – a free web hosting service provider in India. Rajesh belongs to Lucknow and he has completed his Bachelor’s in Computer Applications (B.C.A) from Sikkim Manipal University in 2014. Aman Singh also belongs to Lucknow, he is pursuing B.A. Interview with Two Youngest Digital Entrepreneur & Founder Of GoogieHost.

Digital Guruji: Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from, and where did you grow up?

Rajesh Chauhan : Hello! My Name is Rajesh Chauhan, and I am the founder and CEO of the GoogieHost; a free web hosting company. I have completed my Bachelors in Computer Applications (B.C.A) from Sikkim Manipal University in 2014. 

I reside in and operate from Lucknow, India. As a passionate blogger, SEO specialist, and Digital Marketeer, I have been running GoogieHost since 2012. In the past, I have served in three companies; As a customer care representative, and website designer.

Aman Singh : Hello! My name is Aman Singh, and I have been the admin (one-man army behind GoogieHost) of the GoogieHost since 2017. I also reside in and operate GoogieHost from Lucknow, India. Like Sir Rajesh, I am also a rising Digital Marketer from India. 

I am currently pursuing B.A. I have served as a backend auditor for politician Raj Babbar & Rahul Gandhi in Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow and played an essential role in preparing backend reports for him.

Digital Guruji: How did this all begin? What started your Entrepreneurial journey?

Rajesh Chauhan : (Smiling) This all started when I (Rajesh) was still completing my high school in 2009. At that time, we used to play games on NOKIA premium phones and used to download those over the internet.

So, we gave a thought and asked ourselves:

From where these games come?

Who uploads these, and how do they do it?

Can we also do it?

That time, we primarily focused on our studies. But, in our spare time, we used to learn digital marketing, website designing, and SEO.

Yes, this was the spark that started our beautiful journey.

Digital Guruji: How was GoogieHost founded? It would be helpful for people if you share your GoogieHost journey.

Rajesh Chauhan : (Chuckles) Technically, choosing the brand name was a mere hunch ;-). We did not have any plans as such for selecting the brand name. We were also looking for a suitable domain name for the company. We found GoogieHost as a proper domain name, so we adopted GoogieHost also like the brand’s name in 2014.

I (Rajesh) (Serious) was not very good at studies. However, after I put my smart efforts in the fields, I made myself skilled. Then after a lot of research, I started an initiative, which later turned out to be our free hosting revolution.

Aman Singh : I (Affirming) joined Sir Rajesh in 2017 and also thought the same things as spoken by Sir Rajesh.

(Both Smiling and Looking at each other) We did not have the intention to start this entrepreneurial journey. But, we realized that a lot of students and people in India faced a common difficulty – Starting a WEBSITE! So, we found this brand to solve this problem.

Rajesh Chauhan : As told earlier, we used to question all web hosting. I in the early 2010s wanted to start my online journey and make a name for myself, but the cost of a domain and web hosting skyrocketed at that time, and an ordinary man could not afford it.

But, I took the challenge and decided to make web hosting & new domain registration affordable for an average person. In the summer of 2012, I founded GoogieHost that offered 10GB storage with 100GB Bandwidth web hosting for just $1 per month!

In 2014, our company was running amongst the lead performers of the industry. But, who hasn’t seen the pitfalls? 

My illness made me realize that I still need to experience more. In 2016, GoogieHost started its subsidiary Youstable.com, a company which offers premium web hosting service.

 Then, he (Aman) joined.

Then, after much deliberation and smart efforts, in 2020, we are now again recognized as one of the lead performers of this web hosting industry.

Digital Guruji:  May I know, How did the idea for your business come about?

Rajesh Chauhan : As we told earlier when GoogieHost started to provide free hosting services via its platform. It was then that we realised that we can opt for this challenging yet intriguing business.

Digital Guruji: What does GoogieHost do?

Rajesh Chauhan : GoogieHost aims at resolving the fundamental needs of the students and people who need free and affordable premium web hosting.

Digital Guruji: What were the challenges that you faced initially, and how did you overcome it?

Rajesh Chauhan : (Adjusting the glasses) As I mentioned, we faced some pitfalls from 2014-2015, when I had become ill for a year and could not operate GoogieHost frequently.

Believe me (Rajesh pats on the Table and Smiles) More than 2,50,000 orders were pending when I recovered myself from my illness. Also, when we started to give free hosting to our users, many of them simply signed up and left our environment. Soon, we ran into problems.

Aman Singh : Even being a free user, GoogieHost allotted these free users some of its system resources. Thus, our resources shrank day-by-day.

Therefore, we now only allow free hosting after cross verifying those who need it.

Digital Guruji: Does your work have a social motive behind it?

Aman Singh : YES, OF COURSE!

Rajesh Chauhan : Our whole business is a social motive. A lot of players in the web hosting market offer hosting services.

BUT, they offer this for a little high price!

And, if they offer it at low prices, then they deduct the number of services that come bundled with it.

Thus, we founded GoogieHost on its beliefs. We offer much and provide high-quality service as compared to the other players of this incredible market.

Digital Guruji:  Tell us about the people who impacted your journey.

Rajesh Chauhan : (Rajesh and Aman both look at each other and Smile) In these ten years, we have seen a lot.

A LOT!

Yes, and indeed, a lot of people played crucial roles in our lives and impacted this journey.

My (Rajesh) father wanted me to become Pradhan in my village. But, I resorted and followed my passion. 

Today, I am happy and contended that I followed my dreams. I am thankful to him and my family for raising a fire inside me to follow my vision. 

Aman Singh : (Aman is continuously smiling while Rajesh answered and speaks now) I seriously do not pay much attention to these things (Winks). But, one thing is sure that my parents and friends supported me a lot!

Digital Guruji:  How do you define success? Are you satisfied with your achievements? What is your most significant success to date?

Rajesh Chauhan : At this position, we still cannot define what success is. We realized that we had tasted SUCCESS in drops only. Like, it is the ‘Tip of the Iceberg!’

To some point, YES! But, we still have to move ahead in this industry.

Aman Singh : Like we mentioned earlier, one when found 2,50,000 orders were pending. Two, some of the reputed websites recognise GoogieHost as a top performer in the area of free web hosting.

Digital Guruji:  Your previous jobs/ventures? What were you doing before choosing this field?

Rajesh Chauhan : I had served as a customer service representative for 1 Year and 6 Months in Aegis from August 2011 to January 2013. Later, I joined as a website designer in SYY Staffing and Singhania Education.

As mentioned, I had served as a backend auditor for preparing brief reports of MLAs. I had the privilege of performing such operations under the courtesy of Shri Raj Babbar and Rahul Gandhi of INC.

Digital Guruji:  What are your biggest achievements and falls in your journey?

Rajesh Chauhan : As mentioned earlier, GoogieHost faced operative issues from 2014-2016.

The most significant achievement – Some reputed websites list GoogieHost as top free web host provider internationally!

Digital Guruji: Tell us something about your education & family background.

Rajesh Chauhan : I have completed my schooling at Fairday Convent High School, Lucknow, and completed my Bachelors in Computer Applications (B.C.A) from Sikkim Manipal University in 2014. I was born in Gonda, and at present, I reside in and operate from Lucknow, India. I don’t prefer to talk about my family background.

Aman Singh : I also reside in and operate GoogieHost from Lucknow, India. I pursued Bachelors in Science but left it the fourth year. 

Currently, I am pursuing Bachelors in Arts and have plans to pursue Bachelors in Commerce in the future. 

I also don’t prefer to talk about my family background.

Digital Guruji:  How has been the support from friends and family?

Aman Singh : We have received extended support from our friends and family.

Digital Guruji:  Any Educational / Special Achievements you want to share with us?

Aman Singh : (Both Chuckles) Educational Achievement – NOPE!

And we don’t have a Special Achievement to mention right now.

Digital Guruji:  If you had a magic stick, which are the two things you would change in the world?

Rajesh Chauhan : I will not change anything, since everything is connected; therefore, I would like to stay in this unchanged environment.

Aman Singh : (raises his eyebrows and responds after much thinking): I have just one wish!
I would like the education system of this world to be a more practical one.

Digital Guruji:  What is the part of your life experience you would alter if you had the chance to?

Aman Singh : We would not like to alter our life experiences. Changing this means to sacrifice a part of ourselves that we built after much reflection.

Digital Guruji:  What is the best way to learn digital marketing?

Rajesh Chauhan : The best way to learn digital marketing is to be practical, learn from your experience, stay updated with the trends, do a lot of research, and of course, amidst all of this, have patience.

Digital Guruji:  If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?

Rajesh Chauhan : We have already designed my career and at present, follow my passion. Therefore, I don’t think about starting all over it again.

Digital Guruji: What inspires you? Whose work has influenced you most?

Rajesh Chauhan : As an inspiration, I inspire myself from the works of Elon Musk and Sri Ratan Tata. They have done and still perform their best in their fields. To Quote Ratan Tata, he still is giving his country a part of his income without even publicising.

Aman Singh : (Chuckles) My Family and Sir Rajesh are a great inspiration to me. To Quote Sir Rajesh, He once said to me – ‘KARNA HAI’

Digital Guruji:  Tell us how a day in your life looks like? Your schedule for a day right from the time you get up till you hit the bed at night.

Rajesh Chauhan : It’s Simple! I wake up at 4:30 A.M. Then, comes the morning exercise and meeting a random friend. After hitting the GYM, I reach home at 9:30 A.M. then breakfast, and then off to my work. After 6:30 P.M., I give my time to my family and girlfriend and then go to sleep at 10:30 P.M.

Aman Singh : I wake up at 5:30 A.M. Then, comes the morning exercise routine. Then, from 8:30 A.M to 10:30 A.M. I fresh myself up. Then, I go to college to enjoy college life. After 1 P.M., I focus on my work. After 6:30 P.M., I give my time to my family and friends. Then, at 10 P.M., I go to sleep.

Digital Guruji:  If you were given a choice of meeting any person you want, who will be that person?

Rajesh Chauhan : This is an excellent chance! But as of now, I want to focus on work rather than meeting anyone.

Life is terrific, RIGHT!?

I want to meet amazing people out there without knowing them.

Aman Singh : (Laughing out loud) I want to meet my EX and say THANK YOU! For very things 😉

Digital Guruji:  What are the qualities you look for in a candidate when you hire for GoogieHost?

Rajesh Chauhan : At GoogieHost, your qualifications do not matter. All we look for is talent, skill, and patience in a candidate.

Digital Guruji:  What is the biggest misconception that you think people have about you?

Rajesh Chauhan : I think that people recognize me as the one who has the ATTITUDE. Simply, I am kind of reserved. Once, you know me, you will realize that I don’t have an attitude after all.

Aman Singh : For me, I don’t care what people think of me. They are chances that they have formed some misconceptions.

Digital Guruji:  What is your greatest fear, and how do you manage fear?

Rajesh Chauhan and Aman Singh : Life is full of surprises, RIGHT? Therefore, we have not yet looked for fear.

Fear may come and go, but we aim at finding its weaknesses.

Digital Guruji:  Tell us about your learning’s in this entrepreneurship journey.

Aman Singh : Throughout this entrepreneurship journey, we learned that sticking to your passion and having patience is the key to success.

Digital Guruji:  How do you stay updated on the latest trends in the Market?

Rajesh Chauhan : Well, in this web hosting industry, we prefer to look at the news and updates as soon as possible.

Digital Guruji: If you were to write a book about yourself, how would you name it?

Rajesh Chauhan and Aman Singh : (Both laugh) Why will we write a book if we have feared it? 😉

Also, we are not yet in a position to write a book.

Digital Guruji: What next? What are your future goals?

Rajesh Chauhan :We are aiming to provide our customers with an excellent facility at GoogieHost. Rightly declared on our website – ‘Quality is worth sacrificing the PROFITS.’

Digital Guruji: Any more Interesting Story Do You Want to Share with Us.

Rajesh Chauhan : Once, I went to Russia. It was an enlightening experience. A Pakistani citizen attracted my friend there and me. Simple Reason – We all interacted in the same dialect. In my opinion, we both put ourselves at risk. WHY? Because of Pakistan’s reputation! Thus, I traveled that whole trip in constant fear. (A burst of Laughter)

Aman Singh : I once traveled to Nepal with a bunch of friends. We stayed there at a hotel that welcomed us at attractive pricing and features. After 7 days, the hotel charged us a whooping amount of ₹1,10,000. They falsely accused this amount and stated that the only way to escape this amount is by going to spend the rest of our lives in jail or by going in our underwear. Therefore, they forced us to pay that hefty amount. And we paid them through our parent’s pockets. One in a lifetime experience. (Puts his hand on his face and then smiles)

Digital Guruji: What advice would you like to give our young readers?

Aman Singh : Just follow your dreams and have the patience to fulfil those dreams.

Digital Guruji: And the best part of the Interview, What about the earning and monthly expenses?

We both are not talking about income. but Yes! I can share my expenses with you.
